ESG is becoming more and more financially material
This year the World Investment Forum 2019 hosted by FTSE Russell, took place in South Carolina with a focus on risk, governance, portfolio construction, ESG and sustainability, and performance measurement. Rodolphe Bocquet, Co-Founder and Director of Beyond Ratings, participated in the forum as a speaker and underlined how "ESG is becoming more and more financially material."
"People are feeling that climate change is already starting to have an impact. There is also regulatory revolution. So there are a number of financial regulatory bodies that are including ESG and translating it to regulations so investors are becoming more and more aware of that." Rodolphe Bocquet, Co-Founder and Director of Beyond Ratings, said during an interview at the forum.
He also mentioned the recent acquisition of Beyond Ratings by London Stock Exchange. The reason why Rodolphe Bocquet and Sylvain Chateau, Co-Founder and Director of Beyond Ratings, created the company was to change investors’ perception of credit risk. In the interview, Rodolphe states that the acquisition has provided an opportunity to support this objective as well as further international growth. He also mentioned the Climate Adjusted World Government Bond Index which was created with FTSE Russell as the first product of collaboration.
